Rise (Closed Permanently)

(21 Ratings)
Boston's only afterhours club, popular on Saturdays
This afterhours club is mixed gay/straight and is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday has traditionally been the night for the gay boys, but the crowd has been dwindling of late and management (who are themselves gay) are starting to try to attract a wider audience by moving away from more traditional "gay circuit DJ's." Time will tell how this night fares...be sure to write a review and let us know!

Not a gay scene anymore, so expect about 90 percent straight people. ... Otherwise: Overpriced admission, but they're not making much money on drinks, since they can't serve any. Good music, great for dancing if you're not exhausted at that hour. Interesting for people-watching. Lots of straight people smooching on couches.

Gay no more.....

Boston's only after hours, and the music spinning is awesome. Over time it has become straight, and more ethnic and we gays and lesbians are fewer and fewer! All are welcome, and if you just wanna dance and chill....definately a must! Be warned though guys, the metro sexual staright men take their shirts off and DO NOT like being hit on by guys! Gay men, beware the women are hot and may try to convert you!!! Fridays more straight/Saturday 60% straight/Sundays on special days...is a 50/50 split.

A bar for everyone!

The night we went, there were a lot of str8 people, but that was okay. Everyone seems to get along great. This is something that is happening all over the country nowadays. Hep str8's and Hep gays party together.

I used to go RISE pretty often back in my party days. Only thing that I disagreed with is that you have to know a member to get in, or to obtain your own membership. Cranking sound system and lights. Feels like a fire trap though as its on a 2nd & 3rd floor and 1 exit. Shame on the management of RISE for charging $50 cover on Pride Weekend. What a nerve. They owe the gay community an apology.

Great for all 20's, 30's & 40's crowd

The best Boston has to offer for a Saturday night. The staff is friendly. A must see for after the regular clubs close.
