First of all, if you go to the UnderBar website, you won't even see the tiniest SUGGESTION of anything gay. They don't even mention being OPEN on Sunday nights. Are we supposed to supposed to spend our money there once a week, and hush up about being their dirty little Sunday Secret? It's the club in the closet! I like a gay bar where I can know the staff, and pop in any time, not be shunned for not being on the Thursday guest list or the Saturday guest list, each held by a separate promoter, depending on the night. Yuk.

underbar isn't a gay bar and should not be listed under gay bars in boston. Sure, gay people pop in and out, but this place caters to straight 20-somethings. Put this club in the dustbin of wannabe gay bars and find something else. If it is gay only one night a week, which I haven't noticed, you shouldn't even patronize them. Places like this milk the gay community one night a week with outrageous drink prices and cover charges. Just because they 'use' us, doesn't mean we should use them!

UnderBar is a great place to go Sunday Nights for Mash-Up DJ mixes and cute boys. The bartenders mix the drinks strong, motivating dancing to move from the floor to the top of the long bay of booth-seats at the center of the huge dance space. Free before 11:00 PM, $10 after.
