2014 Salem LGBT Pride Flag Raising!

Mayor Kim Driscoll invites the Salem and North Shore community to come together for our annual Pride Flag Raising at Riley Plaza on Sunday, June 1st to kick-off Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month in Salem! Two years ago, Salem resident and LGBT activist Gary “Gigi” Gill began the tradition of donating pride flags to be flown at Riley Plaza and City Hall to mark LGBT Pride Month. This year, Gigi will donate another six flags for a total of twelve to fly high at Riley Plaza for the month of June! The flag raising ceremony is open to the public and will begin promptly at 11:00AM. Mayor Driscoll invites everyone to celebrate how far we've come and our continued march towards full equality for the LGBT community as we prepare for an even bigger and better North Shore Pride Festival & Parade on Saturday, June 21st!
