This conference is a FREE space for LGBTQ youth and young adults of Color 25 and under to connect, share resources, and gain useful skills for navigating life and creating change.
Over two days, the conference will offer over 30 different workshops, including:
— Talking Back to Adultism
— Words, Prose, and Rhymes: The Evolution of Spoken Word through Poetry
— Powerful Stories: Speaking OUT to Create Social Change
— Managing The Coins: Financial Literacy 101
— Regulating Black and Brown Bodies: Navigating Police Interactions as LGBTQ Youth of Color
This year Saturday's keynote address will be delivered by Richie Torres, the first openly gay candidate to be elected to legislative office in the Bronx and the youngest member of the City Council for New York City. Sunday's keynote address will be given by poet and educator Denice Frohman. She is the 2013 Women of the World Poetry Slam Champion, making her the #1 female ranked spoken word poet in the world.
