September's My Brother’s Keeper Community Circle -- Sexualized Racism
Can y'all believe autumn is already coming?! September's My Brother’s Keeper Community Circle -- Sexualized Racism
Can y'all believe autumn is already coming?! I can't, but let this new season inspire us to come together, reflect on this past summer and share how we navigated romantic and sexual settings as men of color. As many of us know and experience frequently, racism has a way of insidiously popping up during moments of flirtation and attraction, especially online. Please join us on September 29th at the Whittier Street Health Center to discuss sexual stereotypes, how we cope with them and how can we support each other as men of color in challenging sexualized white supremacy and internalized racism.
As a reminder, My Brother's Keeper helps build a healthier Gay, Bi-Sexual, MSM, Transgender, Questioning Men of Color community in the Greater Boston area by bringing visibility to the unique experiences of GBTQ men of Color and supporting individuals in accessing community, social support, and health services in the Greater Boston area. It is an intentional space where GBTQ men of Color can learn with, as well as from, each other in fellowship and solidarity.
Please note that My Brother’s Keeper is a space for men of color across and beyond the gender and sexuality spectrums exclusively, so we kindly ask that our white, non-LGBTQIA* allies to not join us at this meeting.
