From the Archives: Am Tikva, Boston's LGBT Synagogue

Join THP board member Marvin Kabakoff to discuss the history of Am Tikva, Boston's LGBT synagogue, which held its first services in 1977. We'll cover the founding of the World Congress of Gay and Lesbian Jewish Organizations, and show how the congregation has been affected by societal events, by changes in the LGBT community, and by the increasing degree of acceptance of LGBT Jews by mainstream synagogues. All events in this series are held at The History Project, 29 Stanhope Street in Boston, unless otherwise noted. This event is free and open to the public. RSVPs are required, via Facebook or by emailing info@historyproject.org. Space is limited!
