"A Road to Home" tracks the lives of six homeless LGTBQ young people over 18 months. Their lives typify the experience of the 500,000 homeless youth on American streets every night, 40% of them LGTBQ. Four of the young people from the film have grown up as people of color in poor families. All six of the youth have been rejected by their families. Following them all over New York City, "A Road to Home" explores how they learn to survive in the streets and then struggle to find beds and some sense of purpose and direction for their lives.
This event is open to the public, so feel free to bring friends! The screening is free for YLC and Film Festival Members and there is a $5 suggested donation for the general public and the screening will be held on the 10th floor. The event is wheelchair accessible and all gender restrooms are available in the building. Please join us to mingle over light snacks before the screening begins at promptly at 7:00pm as the building closes at 9pm.
