Performing Threads Part of Pride Lights on the BCA Plaza Tuesday, June 7 | 6:30pm Co-sponsored with Boston LGBTQIA Artist Alliance Prior to the tree lighting during Pride Lights, the BCA brings you an evening of performance art. BCA has partnered with the Boston LGBTQIA Artist Alliance (BLAA) to bring you Performing Threads, an evening of performances incorporating fibers by five BLAA artists: Fred Ata/Melissa Boyajian, Madge of Honor, Tom Maio and Nabeela Vega. Our Fab Five use textiles and the way they obscure, transform and define the body to address a range of themes including white supremacy, gender, vampire mythology and queer sexuality. About BLAA: The Boston LGBTQIA Artist Alliance is an artist run volunteer organization that seeks to elevate the voices of Boston based LGBTQIA artists through exhibition opportunities, workshops, artist talks, performances, potlucks, studio visits and other creative social outlets.
