DotOUT's Midweek Meltdowns are Dorchester's one and only monthly-ish, after-work meet-up for Dot's hardworking LGBTQ neighbors and allies.
Just like Dorchester's many neighborhoods, no two Meltdowns are ever the same!
Last month at the Harp, we had a flock of Seans, Boston's gay celebrity DJ and assorted Jones Hill peeps packing the Harp & Bard on a snowbound February evening.

Last month at the Harp, we had a flock of Seans, Boston's gay celebrity DJ and assorted Jones Hill peeps packing the Harp & Bard on a snowbound February evening.
For MARCH, we're putting winter behind us and taking over Tavolo in a DotOUTish end-of-the-line manner! Besides snarfing delicious pizzas and homemade pastas and an ever refilling bottle of Campari, our BFF Tara O'Riordan (you know her from Ashmont Grill) has moseyed across Dot Ave and joined the Tavolo team. Tara cannot wait to host us at her new place of fabulousness!
See you on the 21st!

So... What exactly happens at a Midweek Meltdown?
------------------------------------------------------------------
We find a spot at the bar, plunk ourselves down and wait for folks to straggle in!
Some come earlier than 6:30pm (that's OK, too!) and some come closer to 8:30 (again, totally OK!). We make introductions where needed, catch up on what's new, who's new, how was your day.
This is a totally informal event (i.e. it's BYOBN - buy your own booze 'n' noms), but acts as a great icebreaker for folks new to Dorchester or DotOUT!

Who comes to a Midweek Meltdown?
------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone! Seriously! Women, men, couples looking for an easy night out, partner out of town, folks new to Dorchester, longtime residents. I know - it looks like we're all good friends when you first walk-in, but after one or two midweeks, you'll be a regular, too! Every Meltdown is completely different, too. Dot peeps tend to stay in their little circle unless you cajole them to try a different Dorchester neighborhood. Meltdowns are an easy way to try a new-to-you Dorchester business in an informal way with a great group of LGTBQ friends and our ever adorable straight allies.

How will I find the group at the venue?
------------------------------------------------------------------
Someone from DotOUT is always there to greet you. No signs, just look for folks wearing their Martha Stewart Collection Name Tags around the bar! Seriously. Plus, we're always keeping an eye out for folks coming in! You can always ask at the host station for the "DotOUT" group!
------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you pick your Midweek Meltdown spots?
------------------------------------------------------------------
We find a Dorchester spot with food and libations as darn close to the MBTA Red line as possible. Most folks will be coming from work, so it has got to be as easy as possible to get to and to go home from as the event IS on a Wednesday! You can keep the party going well after the 8:30pm time!
