Good Tunes, Good Times, Good People
Yes, twinks and trolls, but they can keep to themselves while you have your fun. Mixed crowd, cute doorboy, good drinks and great dancing. We went to 2008 Boston Pride and had a blast. Better than some of the other hyped up club, but go to the bathroom before you go.
Why is this place still open?
This is a dive of a club. Attitude city from the front door to the old hag working the coatcheck downstairs. Speaking of downstairs, why are there no fire escapes on this level? Mass. state law requires that an establishment holding a certain amount of people MUST have a fire exit on each level. This club does not and its a disaster waiting to happen!
Nice if you like children
Two kinds of people hang out here. Kids out to dance for the evening, and the creepy old guys that like them. Be careful what you pick up here. They may look hot inside in the dark but once you get outside, you will realize your date is 55 and wearing abercrombie. Creepy.
All-purpose bar in Cambridge
I love to visit Paradise whenever I spend any time with my friends in Cambridge; it's practically on the MIT campus and is easy to get to on foot, on the subway, or by bus. Paradise is really two clubs in one: the basement is a dance club that's somewhat cramped but has always featured good music when I've been there; above that, on the main floor, is a cruisy (but still fairly classy) pub with go-go boys who are cute, friendly, and accessible. The crowd is almost all men and spread out in age, with the young ones tending to congregate downstairs on the dance floor. A couple of times I've hit on guys here and been told they were "married" -- it's fun to call their bluff and see if they actually are married, which of course is possible in Massachusetts. :)
