Sports bar...

I have been here many different occasions. Friendly patrons always there and nice atmosphere. Staff can be unfriendly or not, drinks can be weak or not, not very predictable.

Nice mature, friendly crowd

We DID like this bar. Drinks were rather weak but bartenders/customers were friendly. Of course being from out of town we have learned that WE have to start conversations! But we did enjoy it.

Nice people, lousy drinks

Fritz is the local watering hole for the South End, without the attitude! Or, at least the snobs are outnumbered by the nicer folk who go there. It reminds me of dbar, where people are just friendly for the sake of being friendly. Some nights can get tiresome, but I've yet to meet anyone who didn't return a simple Hello. Think of it as the ying to Club Cafe's yang. ;) Not recommended for one-night stands, but it DOES happen. Drinks are NOT strong, even though they are made with lots of booze. I have my own theory that the hard liquor is diluted with water out back. There's simply no way they can be/taste so weak after you watch them make them with almost 80% liquor.

MatthewA summed it up nicely. Friendly neighbourhood bar showing Red Sox game on the screen. Seemed to be busier than the other bars nearby. Bar tender made me feel very welcome.

Fritz

Fritz is a sports bar w/ friendly bartenders and a cool community feel. Very friendly gay crowd. Love that they open the large windows in the summer and you feel like your outside. Fritz also sponsors many local gay league sports teams. Also to be noted...the well drinks are super strong and very reasonably priced. Finally they also serve brunch on Sat and Sundays. One eve they also serve free pizza but not sure which one. I love Fritz and will always stop in to this low attitude bar.
